If the planned number of applications is received before a quarter ends, the application procedure will be temporarily closed. A corresponding announcement will appear one week in advance on the initiative’s website. We will publish a notice as soon as new applications can be accepted. We recommend you subscribe to our digest and regularly check our Facebook page and website, as well as the BACKUP Health website for up to date information.
! Organisations and institutions from EU member states are not eligible to submit applications.
BACKUP Health offers government and civil society partners to apply for Technical Support in order to improve their capacity and raise effectiveness of the Global Fund programs.
Budget ceiling: EUR 80,000
The programme’s work centres on developing capacities in three intervention areas:
- Country Coordinating Mechanisms,
- Health Systems Strengthening, and
- Grant Management.
In all three intervention areas, community engagement (which includes civil society and particularly key populations), human rights and gender aspects are considered as cross-cutting issues for promoting the meaningful engagement of all actors in Global Fund processes.
Technical Support can be requested in 2 modalities:
- Intervention Areas
- Flexible Support
Flexible Support is provided in order to overcome bottlenecks impeding the work of Global Fund recipients and partners or threatening to block Global Fund processes. Flexible support may, for instance, be offered for:
- measures linked to any of the stages of the Global Fund process — from applying for grants to implementation, evaluation, monitoring, and risk mitigation;
- preparing for the next Global Fund disbursement or funding phase — i.e. helping principal recipients to fulfil the preconditions for disbursement.
Important notice: application procedures are being altered with effect from August 2016. This page has all the relevant, updated, information and documents.
Changes:
- Eligible EECA countries: only Kyrgyzstan is eligible for Intervention Areas modality, but all countries receiving Global Fund funding apart from EU member states can request Flexible Support.
- Submission of the template ‘detailed budget’ is no longer required.
Below you can find application documents for short-term consultancy assistance (Consultancy Mode) as well as the reporting form.
