TB-REP 2.0 virtual launch of the regional communities rights and gender (CRG) overview report

‘Breaking the silence: human rights, gender, stigma and discrimination barriers to TB services in EECA region’

  17 December 2020 / 8:00 – 10:00 AM CET

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the virtual meeting on CRG overview “Breaking the Silence: Human Rights, gender, Stigma and Discrimination Barriers to TB Services in EECA Region” to be organized by the Center for Health Policies and Studies (PAS Center) on 17 December 2020 within the Global Fund supported TB in Eastern Europe and Central Asia Project on Advancing People-Centered Quality TB Care – From the New Model of Care Towards Improving DR-TB Early Detection and Treatment Outcomes (TB-REP 2.0).

From 2016 to 2020, five countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region: Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine – have conducted CRG assessments, using Stop TB Partnership individual or integrated CRG tools. Some of the countries had more than one assessment that contributes to better understanding of barriers faced by particular key populations, and human rights, legal, stigma and/or gender aspects in tuberculosis (TB) response.

To identify common CRG barriers and solutions, TB-REP 2.0 produced a regional overview “Breaking the Silence: Human Rights, Gender, Stigma and Discrimination barriers to TB services in EECA Region” that summarizes the situation per country, followed by in-depth analyses of common CRG bottlenecks and recommendations.

The virtual meeting on December 17 will launch the regional CRG overview, take stock of specific countries learning and discuss tangible ways forward adapted to specific context for the EECA region. The agenda is attached for convenience.

The working languages will be English and Russian. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

The meeting will be held using ZOOM, web conferencing platform. The access to the virtual venue will be available upon registration. Follow the link https://forms.gle/NLUZin9zyDaLxbZYA or use the QR code included in the attached posters to register.
