TBEC webinar on Sustainability, Transition, and Co-financing (STC) of Health Products
June 28, 2018 at 14.00-15.30 hrs BST TBEC will hold the bilingual webinar. The focus will be on the Global Fund’s Sustainability, Transition, and Co-Financing Policy and its impact on the availability of quality, affordable essential TB drugs, diagnostics, and other commodities in the region. The webinar will explore the implications of transition process from the Global Fund support to national funding on co-financing and procurement of TB drugs in the region. The webinar will specifically focus on various risks and challenges transition presents and the different ways to address the issue at national and regional level. Erica Lessem from Treatment Action Group will discuss why now is an important time to discuss the policy (in view of GF investments in TB and new products already in the pipeline) and Sharonann Lynch from Médecins Sans Frontières will provide an overview of unintended consequences of STC policy and how they could be mitigated. Sergii Filippovych will share his extensive experience of treatment approaches and programmatic transition, procurement process and supply management of TB drugs in Ukraine.
After initial presentations, we will leave ample time for the discussion.
