Over the past 20 years, while the Global Fund’s policies and processes have evolved, the commitment to engaging diverse communities in decision-making remains strong. As the 2023-2028 Strategy is implemented, placing communities at the core, the aim is to further integrate community engagement and leadership into all aspects of the work.
This guide addresses obstacles to community involvement and offers solutions based on community insights. It highlights key engagement opportunities throughout the grant life cycle, from application preparation to performance evaluation, and includes case studies, expectations, and resources for emerging community leaders. The goal is to ensure community engagement is appropriately valued and funded, enabling diverse communities to lead efforts toward achieving global health targets by 2030.
