A request co-signed by 10 regional communities and civil society networks in Eastern Europe and Central Asia has been sent on 14th of June 2023 to the Global Fund leadership regarding the Global Fund’s support in the Kyrgyz Republic. The request raises concerns about discussions in the Kyrgyz Parliament regarding the composition of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) and the management of the Global Fund grant. It emphasizes the need for compliance with Global Fund policies and requirements to ensure effective program oversight. The document calls for transparency and inclusivity in decision-making processes. It states that failing to comply with the Global Fund policies and CCM requirements should be regarded by the Global Fund Secretariat as a concern for concluding an agreement with the Kyrgyz Republic for the 2024-2026 funding.
