International Trans Fund: website and first call for grants

The International Trans Fund (ITF) is excited to announce the first call for grant applications!

ITF is a new activist and funder-led initiative, that aims to increase the capacity of the trans movement to self-organize and advocate for trans people’s rights, self-determination, and wellbeing.

The intended purpose of the Trans Fund is to:

1. BUILD AND SUSTAIN A MECHANISM TO SUPPORT TRANS-LED GROUPS

2. INCREASE AND ENHANCE ACCESS TO RESOURCES

3. EDUCATE OUR PEERS

The ITF has developed a website and a Facebook page, that you can follow to be updated on its activities and plans.

At the moment the ITF  is accepting applications from 1 December 2016 until 17 February 2017 in one of five languages: English, French, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish.

Please view the full RFP (Request for Proposals) document, Sample Budget Template and Check List for more detail.

A written application is preferred. A request can be made to submit a video or other media application, where an organisation does not have the capacity to write an application in English, French, Russian, Simplified Chinese, or Spanish, but could provide a spoken application in one of these languages.

Please email the Fund on grants@transfund.org if you would like to make a video application, and it will supply more details including the maximum length of the video. These video guidelines will also be posted on the ITF website (www.transfund.org) by late December 2016.

Please allow at least one week for a response.

While the Fund does receive applications for funding in English, French, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish, the ITF staff works in English and Spanish only. This means the ITF may need to use google translate to respond to questions.

Please submit all applications to grants@transfund.org before or on 17 February 2017.

Follow the Fund on Facebook.
